Verified Identity Pass Outlines Five Guiding Principles For its Clear™ Registered Traveler Program. No costs will be borne by airports/airlines and Clear will finance additional lanes where necessary.

New York - Verified Identity Pass, Inc. (Verified ID) today announced at the Airport's Council International's Public Safety & Security Committee meeting, five guiding principles of its Clear registered traveler program in preparation for a national rollout this June:

  • Clear will not cost airports or airlines money. All program costs will be borne by Clear.
  • Clear will finance and install cutting edge equipment in security lanes, once approved by TSA, to enable TSA to allow additional security benefits.
  • Clear is committed to operate completely financed programs on a long term basis and is willing to be contractually bound to do so.
  • Clear will operate under the premise that when registered traveler lanes are in operation, all airport lines will be shorter and move faster. Clear will finance new lanes, if necessary, in order to meet this commitment.
  • Clear will have stringent privacy policies, including its Identity Theft Warranty.

"Although these principles have always been a part of our model, we want to emphasize our commitment to them as the program approaches its national rollout this spring," Allison Beer, Director of Business Development explained. "Clear can provide enhanced customer service for travelers with no cost to an airline or airport."

Verified ID operates Clear, the only registered traveler program currently operating in the U.S. The program in Orlando has over 16,000 members and has processed over 1,000 members through its lanes in one day. TSA has scheduled a national rollout of registered traveler for June 20, 2006.
