Verified Identity Pass Outlines Five Guiding Principles For its Clear™ Registered Traveler Program. No costs will be borne by airports/airlines and Clear will finance additional lanes where necessary.
New York - Verified Identity Pass, Inc. (Verified ID) today announced at the Airport's Council International's Public Safety & Security Committee meeting, five guiding principles of its Clear registered traveler program in preparation for a national rollout this June:
"Although these principles have always been a part of our model, we want to emphasize our commitment to them as the program approaches its national rollout this spring," Allison Beer, Director of Business Development explained. "Clear can provide enhanced customer service for travelers with no cost to an airline or airport."
Verified ID operates Clear, the only registered traveler program currently operating in the U.S. The program in Orlando has over 16,000 members and has processed over 1,000 members through its lanes in one day. TSA has scheduled a national rollout of registered traveler for June 20, 2006.

Verified Identity Pass, Inc. was founded in 2003 by journalist and entrepreneur Steven Brill. Clear is the first privately run Registered Traveler program operating at a U.S. Airport. Brill's partners in VERIFIED ID include Lockheed Martin and ARINC.
Clear has been operational since July 19, 2005 at Orlando International Airport. Open to all travelers at a fee of $79.95 per year, enrollees begin an application online at flyclear.com and then submit biometric data (fingerprint and iris images) at the ClearSpace enrollment stations in the airport. Once approved by TSA, Members use the specially designated ClearLanes upon arrival at the airport's security checkpoints for expedited passage.
