Clear® Opens Enrollment for Fast Pass at LaGuardia
Airport Clear Security Lanes to Open in September

NEW YORK, AUGUST 23 - Clear®, the leading service provider of registered traveler (RT) lanes at U.S. airports, announced today the opening of the Clear enrollment station at LaGuardia Airport’s Central Terminal where Clear will launch fast security lanes in September. With the addition of LaGuardia, travelers at all three New York-area airports will be able to access Clear’s fast pass lanes.

Clear’s enrollment station at LaGuardia is located on the departure level of the Central Terminal, next to the checkpoint for B Gates. Its hours of operation are 5 AM – 8 PM daily.

Clear has now enrolled over 59,000 travelers nationwide. It provides members with access to a separate, faster line through airport security checkpoints by using an identity card containing their encrypted fingerprint or iris images. The annual fee of $99.95 is charged once applicants are pre-screened and approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Applicants start their enrollment at flyclear.com and complete the process in person at an enrollment location where their biometrics (fingerprints and iris images) are captured and their identifications are validated.

"We are pleased to be a sponsor of the Clear Registered Traveler program at New York's LaGuardia International Airport," said Bob Fornaro, AirTran Airways' president and chief operating officer. "Our frequent travelers value every minute of their time and this program will help them flow through the airport with ease and cut down on the time they spend waiting in line without compromising the multiple layers of safety and security that are built into commercial air travel today."

“Now nearly all travelers with departing flights from the Central Terminal will be able to access Clear lanes thanks to the leadership of AirTran Airways,” said Steven Brill, founder and CEO of Clear. “The addition of LaGuardia to the Clear network is great news for business travelers. Clear’s value is steadily increasing as more and more airports sign on and we’re seeing that realized in a significant increase in enrollments nationwide.”

Clear announced this week that within the first 30 hours the of enrollment station launch at San Francisco, 1,000 travelers signed up.

“LaGuardia is a major business airport and we won’t be surprised to see record enrollment here, too,” Brill added.

LaGuardia joins Clear’s growing national network that includes Albany, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, New York JFK, Newark, Orlando, San José and Westchester. Clear will launch its lanes at San Francisco International Airport in September. Other airports expected to launch RT programs this fall include Washington, DC (Reagan and Dulles), Denver, and Atlanta, all of whom have issued or, in the case of Atlanta, are about to issue Requests for Proposals. Because of the TSA’s requirement that all RT cards be interoperable, Clear cards will be recognized at all of these airports no matter which service provider wins these bids. Every airport that has picked a provider in an open, competitive bidding thus far has picked Clear.

Currently, Clear enrollment stations are located in airports with Clear programs and also at convenient city locations, such as the San Francisco Hyatt (Embarcadero) and New York’s Grand Hyatt at Grand Central Station. The enrollment station at the Grand Central Hyatt is located on the mezzanine level and its hours of operation are 10 AM – 6 PM on weekdays.
