Clear® Expands Partnership with Hyatt in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, OCTOBER 1, 2007, Clear®, the provider of express security lanes at airports nationwide, announced today it will open an enrollment center at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco at Union Square on Stockton Street. In August, Mayor Gavin Newsom opened Clear at San Francisco International Airport, and travelers began using their Clear cards at SFO in September.
“Through this partnership, both Hyatt customers and travelers who work at offices nearby will be able to enroll at a convenient, downtown location,” said Allison Beer, Clear’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. “The enrollment station at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco at Embarcadero has been among our busiest nationwide and we’re convinced that the enrollment station at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco will be every bit as busy based on pre-launch demand from area corporations.”
Grand Hyatt San Francisco is the third Hyatt to welcome a Clear enrollment kiosk. Both the Hyatt Regency San Francisco at Embarcadero Center and Grand Hyatt New York at Grand Central Terminal currently host Clear enrollment centers.
“We are delighted to be able to continue to work with Clear,” said David Nadelman, General Manager, Grand Hyatt San Francisco. “Now, Hyatt guests are able to sign up for this express lane program at a time and place that is most convenient to them. We certainly appreciate that the Bay Area has recognized what a great service Clear provides.”
Those who wish to enroll at the Hyatt locations begin the enrollment process at flyclear.com before visiting the Clear enrollment centers. To complete the process, applicants must bring two pieces of government-issued ID (passport and driver’s license are strongly recommended) to the hotels. Clear also operates enrollment centers at San Francisco and San José International Airports. The hours at Grand Hyatt San Francisco are 7AM-7PM weekdays. The enrollment station at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Embarcadero is open 10AM-6PM weekdays.
Clear has now enrolled 67,000 travelers nationwide. It provides members with access to a separate, faster line through airport security checkpoints by using an identity card containing their encrypted fingerprint or iris images. The annual fee of $99.95 is charged once applicants are pre-screened and approved by the government. Applicants start their enrollment at flyclear.com and complete the process at an enrollment location where their fingerprints and iris images are captured and their identification is validated.
In addition to San Francisco International, Clear cards are currently accepted at Albany, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Little Rock, New York’s JFK, Newark, Orlando, Reno, San José and Westchester County (NY) airports, and soon, LaGuardia. Other airports expected to launch RT programs this fall include Washington, DC (Reagan and Dulles), Denver, Oakland (CA) and Atlanta, all of whom have issued or, in the case of Atlanta, are about to issue Requests for Proposals. Every airport that has selected a provider in an open, competitive process has chosen Clear.
